The Circleback desktop app lets you record meetings on Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or any other platform without the Circleback bot joining as a participant. It captures your microphone and computer audio directly from your machine.

Go to Settings → Notifications and enable Detect meetings. When you join a meeting on your computer, Circleback detects when an app (like Zoom or Google Meet) starts using your microphone and sends you a notification with the option to record.

If you also have joining preferences enabled, Circleback will first try to join the meeting as a bot participant. If it's unable to join (for example, if the host doesn't admit it), Circleback will fall back to recording with the desktop app instead so you never miss a meeting.

If you'd prefer to always record with the desktop app and never have the bot join, turn off your joining preferences from Settings → Calendar.

With Automatically start recordings enabled, recording will begin automatically after a short countdown when a meeting is detected. If you don't want to record a specific meeting, click Don't Record on the notification to cancel.

With Automatically end recordings enabled, recording will stop when your microphone is no longer in use (e.g. you've left the meeting). If you want to continue the recording when the end of a meeting is detected, you can click Keep Recording to continue.

By default, the notification for detected meetings will be set to record video from the meeting window along with audio. If you'd prefer to record audio only, disable Record meeting window from Settings → Notifications. You can still change this from the notification before a recording starts.

You can also start a recording at any time from the app or the menu bar.
