The Circleback desktop app lets you record meetings on Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or any other platform–without the Circleback bot joining as a participant.

Getting started

Install the desktop app

  1. Download app from circleback.ai/desktop (available for both macOS and Windows).

  2. Install and open the app.

  3. Log in with your Circleback account.

Automatic meeting detection and recording

Get notified to record

Go to Settings → Calendar → Desktop recording and enable Detect meetings. When you join a meeting on your computer, Circleback detects when an app (like Zoom or Google Meet) starts using your microphone–and the bot hasn't joined. You'll get a notification with the option to record.

If you prefer to record meetings with the desktop app, turn off automatic joining preferences from Settings → Calendar, or toggle off automatic joining for a specific meeting from Home.

Automatic start

With Automatically start recordings enabled, instead of clicking Record each time, recording will start automatically after a countdown when a meeting is detected. If you don't want to record a specific meeting, simply click Don't Record on the notification to cancel.

Automatic end

Enable Automatically end recordings to stop recording at the calendar event end time or after extended silence.

Starting a recording

You can record meetings whenever from the app or the menu bar/system tray. When starting a recording, you can choose your microphone, screen, and system audio recording preferences

From the app

  1. Open the Circleback app.

  2. Click New meeting → Record in the top-right corner.

From the menu bar/system tray

  1. Click the Circleback icon in your menu bar (macOS) or system tray (Windows).

  2. Select Open Record Panel.
